Autumn Festival - September 18, 2010
Robinson Township's 8th Annual Autumn Festival is where you want to be on Saturday, September 18. This community event gets bigger and better every year. Once again there will be food, games, and activities for all ages.
New this year: Molly's Trolley will provide FREE shuttle service for the Robinson Township Festival compliments of the Airport Area Chamber of Commerce. This year we will have parking available at all of Burkett Elementary School parking lots, Fratangelo Gardens located next to Burkett School, and the Omega Center if needed. Molly's Trolley will begin round trip service at 4:00 p.m., making special stops at Robinson Manor Building to pick up residents and transport them to the festival at 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. Shuttle transportation will be provided at no cost to the rider.
We will have many attractions for the kids of all ages again this year. Zigzag across raised foam platforms - all the while dodging swinging foam boulders hurled from 6 onlookers! This game combines speed and strategy. Who will be the first to conquer Boulderdash? Titanic Slide, a 35' ride down the awesome dual slide.
Ride the waves with our Surf Simulator, just a jump away from the Castle Bouncer. Leapin' Lizzy’s Inflatables will feature an Ocean Playland, an inflatable playground for toddlers, Dalmatian Moon Walker, and a 22-foot slide for the younger set.
Soar to new heights! On the ever popular Euro Bungee, perform acrobatic maneuvers such as somersaults and back flips. You'll race over mountains, ramps and slide down the giant slide to the finish line on the Adrenaline Rush Obstacle Course. For all these great inflatables, the operation hours will be 12:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
Bring your appetite and a bib for the return of the popular Pie Eating Contest! Timothy the Trackless Train returns as does Master Magician Robbie Wise and Balloon Art by Carla.
Once again we will feature local entertainment throughout the day and we welcome back Montour High School's Drum Line. Musical entertainment will bring a little jazz this year with Clem Rolin and the Pittsburgh Jazz All Stars.
A Rolling Stone review once echoed the words "they are up there with Springsteen, Petty, and Seger" referring to our featured band Joe Grushecky and the House Rockers. Joe Grushecky and the House Rockers will take the stage around 7:30 p.m.
Fireworks will light up the sky for a climax to the day; Zambelli International will set in motion an ending to a perfect day. Show begins around 9:45.
Come early; stay late, and be sure to bring your family and friends. Don't miss out on any of the fun!
